We are currently sourcing for a Senior Piping Engineer for an 'ongoing contract' role located just off Aberdeen City Centre.

Responsibilities and tasks :

To assist the Lead or Principal engineer in meeting project requirements and performing all technical duties in a highly competent and efficient manner.
Organisational:
Assist in the preparation of CTR’s and man-hour estimates via the Aker Management System where applicable.
Execute technical duties in a competent and professional manner and in accordance with company procedures
Ensure work is completed on Schedule and within budget.
Ensure project deliverables are generated via the Aker Kvaerner Management system where applicable.
Review and check the work of others.
Assist the lead or principal engineer in the planning, co-ordination and execution of the groups work activities.
Liase with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues.
Provide added value to the development of their discipline / function.
Direct sub-ordinate engineers in their work.
Assist the lead engineer in the compilation of weekly reports on progress via the Aker Kvaerner Integrated Management system where applicable.
May have responsibility for the performance of others within their discipline / function.
Provide engineering and technical direction for drawing office personnel.
Deputise for the principal engineer – provision of holiday, sickness cover when required.

Technical:
Prepare engineering concepts and issue into detail design.
Carry out manual and computer analysis.
Prepare technical data for construction and commissioning.
Review and comment on vendor information and assist with inspection and testing.
Review and check subordinate engineers work.
Review weight estimates.
Attend meetings as and when required.
Carry out onshore / offshore surveys and answer site queries, when required.


QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

Educated to HNC/HND level in engineering discipline
Educated to degree level in engineering discipline preferred
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer preferred
Demonstrable previous Oil & Gas experience as a Senior Piping Engineer.
Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
Conversant with appropriate technical software essential
Aware of latest technical developments preferred
Current Offshore Survival Certificate preferred
Current Offshore Medical Certificate preferred
Demonstrable relevant professional experience essential
Ability to direct and guide engineers and designers
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Good team working skills
Pro-active attitude

Qualifications & personal attributes 

Educated to HNC/HND level in engineering discipline
Educated to degree level in engineering discipline preferred
